Last month, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, was invited to speak about US-Israel relations at the University of California, Irvine. During his speech he was frequently interrupted by hecklers and was forced to leave the stage for a few minutes before eventually returning and finishing his speech. Ambassador Oren wrote an open letter to the students of UCI in which he recalls the importance for dialogue, especially on the frontlines of higher education and expresses his desire to return to the campus and engage with those students who did not wish to give him the opportunity to speak on February 9.
