Consulate General of Israel Brings Community Together in Support of AIDSWalk Los Angeles

Los Angeles – October 11 – In an unprecedented display of community unity, support and social activism, the Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles is bringing local organizations to walk together during AIDSWalk LA under the banner of Israel for a Cure. Nearly twenty organizations and hundreds of individuals will take to the streets of West Hollywood on the morning of October 16th to highlight the tremendous work being done by AIDS Project LA and by scientists and physicians in Israel.
"The Consulate is proud to bring the local Jewish and Israeli communities together to show the medical breakthroughs coming out of Israel in the field of HIV/AIDS research," said Consul General of Israel, David Siegel. "Israel is working to eradicate the virus and the Consulate is supporting the efforts of the scientists who strive to make this vision a reality. It is inspiring to bring together a united community from various political, religious and social organizations to walk for a common purpose and support a meaningful humanitarian cause."
The organizations that will join the Consulate on October 16 include Act for Israel, American Jewish Committee, American Jewish University, BINA, Board of Rabbis, Democrats for Israel, Friends of the IDF, Hadassah, Israel Bonds, Jewish Federation of Greater LA, Jewish National Fund, Jewish Life Television, Los Angeles Russian Jewish Network, Magen David Adom, Na'Maat, Peace Now, Republican Jewish Coalition, Sephardic Educational Center and StandWithUs.
