After 10 years of hard work, Ben Dor Fruits & Nurseries has finally introduced its newest stone fruit: the Nectarine-Mango.  The fruit is heart-shaped and has the smooth peel of a mango.  Currently, the Nectarine-Mango is being sold throughout Israel as well as exported to the UK and South Africa.  Can’t wait until it reaches the US!

New fruit and vegetable varieties are not new for Israel.  In the past, Israeli farmers have also brought to the world the black galaxy tomato, rainbow colored carrots, and a grapefruit-pomelo hybrid called the pomelit, among many others.

The BenDor family business has made a name for itself during the last three decades for its cultivation and nursery growing.  Ben Dor Fruits & Nurseries exports approximately 3000 tons of stone fruits every year, from apricots and plums to nectarines and pears.

Next, the company plans to release two more new fruits: the pita peach and the pita nectarine.  These fruits, in addition to being delicious, are also flat like pita bread!
