The 26th Annual Red Sea Jazz Festival is here and it is sure to be an experience like never before.

The festival, which runs July 30-August 2, is different this year for several reasons. Firstly, the festival will be run by two artistic directors instead of one. Dubi Lenz and Eli Degibri come from different artistic backgrounds and have different artistic visions, but have come together to make the 2012 Red Sea Jazz Festival one spectacular show.

Star performers this year include the Yes Trio, Gilad Hekselman, Mark Turner, Matt Brewer, Marcus Gilmore, and Geri Allen.

The Yes Trio is comprised of Israeli bassist Omer Avital along with Americans Aaron Goldberg on piano and Ali Jackson on drums.

Geri Allen’s Time Line Trio will be accompanied by a tap dancer along with a tribute to 80-year-old clarinetist-poet-artist Harold Rubin’s Zaviot band, which performed for the first three Red Sea Jazz Festivals.

This year’s show will also feature some great talents from beyond the jazz sphere. These include Cameroon-born guitarist-vocalist Richard Bona, Israeli guitarist-vocalist Dudu Tassa and his Iraqi-influenced repertoire, Cape Verde vocalist-guitarist-keyboardist Carmen Souza and gospel powerhouse Craig Adams.

Who do you want to see at the festival?
